First off- the case itself is fine. Charging $20+tax for 25 cents worth of made-in-China plastic is capitalism, so no beef there. Including a screen protector was a nice touch, so another 10 cents worth of plastic. The screen protector life an 8th of an creep too small didn’t even bother me that greatly. What kills me is the small sign tabs they used to help you peel the financial help form the protector sheet. When you remove them they leave a huge ancient sticky smudge. Go ahead and ruin the thing trying to get the glue off, but no way. Do the stickers that come off clean cost another penny or something?
First off let me just say, I like Speck’s products. I’m tough on electronics but my iPod has lasted 3+ years now inside its rugged Speck case. That was then, this is now. I ordered the Speck case for my Nuvi W255 GPS. I really looked-for this case. I can’t tell you the number of times this glassy smooth GPS has slipped from my hands or off the dash onto the floorboards. What rocket scientist designed the case on this thing? Be grateful goodness for carpeting!
Here’s my problem. The item is advertised on the box as fitting the Nuvi W255. The small problem is; the on/off switch on the Nuvi W255 is on the *right*. Guess where the hole for the on/off switch is in this product? Yup, on the left.
The Speck Toughskin is a fantastic case for the Nuvi unless you have a 265wt or 285wt. I specifically questioned Speck Customer Service if this case had an opening for the microphone and was told yes. I guess they forgot to really look at the case as there is no such opening.
If you have a bluetooth enabled model, this case covers the microphone and muffles your voice during calls. In all additional aspects I find this case to be of superior quality.
As for the quality of the Speck Customer Service reps, I guess you can’t have everything…
I received a garmin nuvi 255w for Christmas 09 and wanted to protect my present, so i looked at this one and bought it, based on all you fine people’s reviews! first off thanks everyone for the reviews and feedback, fits be fond of a glove.i reckon it looks very tough and greatly cooler when i place it on.i would recommend it to everyone who wants to protect in the longevity of your investment.just got my case, and will keep up with the feedback as i use it more and more. be grateful you!
I despised to waste more money when buying the GPS, but, this shielding skin is really nice. It makes the GPS simple to handle so I feel better about handling my Garmin without dropping it! Fantastic thought and product. Highly recommend it.

Useless. Not as advertised. Sent it back.
